Weather
"Seis meses de invierno y seis meses de infierno"
The main point to remember about Toledo's weather, when planning a visit, is how unbelievably hot it gets in summer. The traditional saying above is an old Spanish joke that their weather is six months of winter and then six months of hell. So, accordingly, do not plan to visit Toledo in July or early August. It gets fairly cold in the winter, though rarely below freezing. If you're visiting then, please remember to bring a jacket. One thing not to expect regularly is rain, as on the Madrid plateau it rains rarely if ever. Don't waste too much packing space on bulky raincoats unless you're coming in springtime, when scattered showers are not unusual.
One thing it is crucial to remember is that Europe uses Celsius, not Fahrenheit, which can get confusing if you show up in a sweater on a 40 Celsius day. We include a converter to help you familiarize yourself with the system.
